Besa Besarta (Hamburg/Kosovo 2011-13)
The photographic essay "Besa Besarta" revolves around the wedding of the two twin sisters Besa and Besarta. They live in Hamburg and have both married on the same day in Kosovo in 2011. Over the course of a year's time, Simone Haug accompanied them as they prepare for their wedding in Hamburg and in Kosovo, during a three-day wedding party for Besa and also Besarta in Kosovo, into late fall with their return to daily life in Hamburg. Besa is an abbreviation of Besarta. Besarta means "golden word of honor."
